'Glee' beauty Lea Michele referred to the late Cory Monteith as "the best person I know" in a new interview that she did just one month before his untimely death.

31-year-old Monteith was found dead at a Canadian hotel earlier this month and it was later confirmed that the cause of death was a mixture of heroin and alcohol.

Michele, who dated the heartthrob and her co-star for some time, spoke to Mexico's Marie Claire magazine back in June about their "incredble" relationship and explained that she was always "thankful" to have him in her life:

"He is the best person I know. He has made my life so incredible, and I am so thankful for him and not only to have him as a partner but also as a co-worker. It is important to have someone that supports you and encourages you, someone that makes you feel that you are unstoppable, that you can do anything in the world because you have him."

Although Michele is yet to speak publicly about the tragic events, her representative issued a statement after Monteith's death was announced: ""Lea is deeply grateful for all the love and support she's received from family, friends and fans. Since Cory's passing, Lea has been grieving alongside his family and making appropriate arrangements with them."
