'Fly Away' hitmaker Lenny Kravitz suffered a rather unfortunate wardrobe malfunction earlier this week while performing a concert in Stockholm as his leather trousers split open during a particularly energetic crouch. 

The superstar's trousers ripped in the middle and because he wasn't wearing underwear at the time exposed everything to the audience, who were obviously equipped with phones and cameras. 

Luckily, Kravitz had a fantastic sense of humour about the incident and took to his official Twitter page last night to joke about it. He shared a screenshot of a funny text message (shown below) sent to him by Aerosmith rocker Steven Tyler, which he simply accompanied with the word "#penisgate".

Animal rights charity PETA saw the wardrobe malfunction as a great opportunity to get in on the social media action and tweeted: "Another reason NOT to wear leather! We'll be sending Lenny Kravitz some extra sturdy #vegan leather pants..."
