Leona Lewis: 'My new album will be more fun'

'Bleeding Love' songstress Leona Lewis has revealed that her upcoming new record is going to be 'more fun' than her previous releases.

Speaking to Britain's Daily Star newspaper, she explained that she really enjoyed performing songs from her new Christmas album so wants to continue the trend with the tracks on her new record as she usually leans towards more emotional or sad music:

"When I was performing 'One More Sleep' on TV, I was smiling when I was singing. I never smile when I sing, as I'm drawn to melancholy, heart-wrenching melodies."

"It's been nice to get out of that headspace and have fun. My next album will be more Motowny. The songs won't all be 'Yay' but they'll have some fun. We wrote some non-festive songs with that energy, which we've set aside for my next record."

She also opened up about dealing with critics and added that she has learned not to take notice of negativity because all that matters is that she loves what she does:

"I couldn't give two craps what people think. I know what I do comes from the heart, so whatever other people say is irrelevant. People are always going to have an opinion of you. I just concentrate on the love I get from the fans."
