The very talented Leona Lewis has been confirmed to play the role of Grizabella in Andrew Lloyd Webber's upcoming Broadway production of 'Cats'.

Nicole Scherzinger was originally announced for the part, but has since dropped out due to being offered a judging role on 'The X Factor'. Webber was furious at her last-minute decision to leave, but is now very excited to welcome Lewis to the cast. 

He tweeted: "Very excited to welcome @leonalewis to the @CatsMusical family in @CatsBroadway. #TeamALW."

Leona Lewis also shared a post about the news, adding: "Can't even believe this! I'm thrilled & honored to announce I'll be playing the part of Grizabella in @CatsBroadway!"
