Leona Lewis: "We should be portraying all kinds of beauty"

Leona Lewis hosted a fan-led Q&A on her official Twitter page this evening and gave some fantastic words of wisdom on various topics.

When asked by a follower what advice she has for anyone struggling with self-esteem and body image issues, the "Bleeding Love" sensation wrote:

"I think some of it is down to the media. We should be portraying all kinds of beauty not just card board cut outs... Big, small, short, tall, black, white, there should be much more diversity so that everyone feels included and beautiful. Firstly it's about having a spiritual centre and knowing that that's were everything radiates from...beauty 'n' all!"

She also explained that it's great to see Disney being more diverse with its characters nowadays, as that must have nothing but a positive impact on youngsters: "My fave Disney Princess is Tiana, I wish I had a princess of colour to look up to when I was growing up... at least now the little ones do."

Lewis, who is currently starring in the Broadway production of Cats, added that she still has some career goals to achieve: "I love to expand & use my creativity in other areas as well as music. It's important to fuel the flames of your passion..."
