Lil Wayne has revealed that he was potentially close to death after his recent seizure outbreak.

As previously reported, the US rapper was recently hospitalised after suffering a seizure, but he was later released.

Speaking to Power 106 FM, Wayne admitted that he has a long-running problem with epilepsy and has kept his previous seizures quiet from the public.

However, his latest outbreak saw him have three seizures in a row, with his heart rate dropping to near a fatal level. He said:

"The bad news is I'm an epileptic, I'm prone to seizures. Like, this isn't my first, second, third, fourth, fifth, sixth, seventh seizure. I've had a bunch of seizures, y'all just never hear about them."

Wayne continued: "This time it got real bad 'cause I had three of them in a row and on the third one, my heart rate went down to like 30%. Basically, I could've died, so that is why it was so serious. But the reason being for the seizures is just plain stress, no rest, overworking myself."
