Lily Allen denies mocking Beyoncé at gig

Lily Allen has dismissed suggestion that she poked fun at Beyoncé on stage at the weekend.

The singer was performing at London's G-A-Y venue on Saturday (April 26) when she donned a wig and stripped off to her underwear before dancing to Beyoncé's 'Drunk in Love'.

Some people suggested that Allen was mocking the US icon, but she took to Twitter to say that she was just following own her tradition of performing a cover in "drag".

Allen said: "Each time I play GAY I do a cover in drag. 1st time I did Dorothy, last time Britney, thus tone Queen Bey. Why do people jump to conclusions."

She added: "I wasn't mocking Beyoncé, like I wasn't dissing anyone on # SHEEZUS, this is so f***ing boring."

The Brit meanwhile is due to release her new album 'Sheezus' on May 5.

It is her first record since her 2009 effort 'It's Not Me, It's You'.
