Lily Allen hits out at 'Sheezus' review: 'It's just music, not politics'

'Air Balloon' hitmaker Lily Allen has slammed a review of her new album, 'Sheezus', for criticising her for seeming like she wasn't sure of the message she was trying to portray.

Writing on her official Twitter page this evening (May 8), the songstress shared the part from the Pitchfork review that she didn't really like and added that what they were picking at was intentional from her perspective.

She posted: "Lily Allen possesses a terrific flair for irony, but there's a fine line between using irony to make a cutting point and using it as a protective coating to hide the fact that you're not sure exactly what you're trying to say."

The star then explained that her new album doesn't have some kind of agenda and is just about being confused in general: "This whole record is about being confused, I have no idea what I'm trying to say either, but why should I? It's just music, not politics."

'Sheezus' debuted at No.1 on the UK midweek albums chart and the final position will be confirmed this coming Sunday.
