Lily Allen on hearing own music in public: 'I find the nearest table and hide under it'

'Air Balloon' hitmaker Lily Allen has admitted that when she hears her own music playing in clubs or bars she visits, she instantly feels weird and her instincts tell her to leave.

Speaking to the British edition of GQ magazine, Allen confessed that her immediate reaction to hearing her own songs playing in public is to hide: "Usually if I'm in a club and my music comes on I find the nearest table and hide underneath it. That's generally how I deal with it."

She went on to add that some establishments have a habit of purposely playing her music when she enters, but it just makes her feel very uncomfortable and she doesn't get excited about it:

"It's quite funny because in some places they think that's the appropriate thing to do when someone like myself walks in is to play their song. I think I might be different to most people in the sense that I react: I'm horrified when that happens and hide. I'm sure some people get on the table and dance 'Woo hoo! This is great.' But I can't do that."

Her new album, 'Sheezus', hit the No.1 spot on the UK albums chart yesterday (May 11) and she thanked her followers on Twitter for getting it to the top: "Yay!!!!!! Number 1 album, thank you lots and lots everyone. xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx."
