Lily Allen would love her 2018 Hyundai Mercury Prize nomination announced this morning to lead to more record label support.

'No Shame' is the British singer-songwriter's most personal studio album to-date, and is fully deserving of the recognition it is receiving. It is up for the coveted Hyundai Mercury Prize this year, alongside 11 albums from other acts including Florence + The Machine, Wolf Alice, Noel Gallagher and Arctic Monkeys.

Speaking at the nomination announcement conference which was held at London's Langham Hotel, Allen said: "I wish I had more support from the record label, bigger video budgets."

The 'Trigger' singer who already has three Ivor Novello Awards under her belt said: "This award for me and the Ivor Novello Awards are the big ones for me."

Last month, the talented music star spoke about how hard it is to be kept in a contract which does not change with the evolving music industry revenue stream.

She said: "It's really hard to make money out of music these days, people don't buy albums and I don't make any money from streaming, because of my contract, which I signed in 2005."

'No Shame' was released on June 8, 2018 via Parlophone. 

The 2018 Awards Show will take place on September 20 at the Eventim Apollo, Hammersmith.

The event will feature live performances from many of the shortlisted artists and the evening is set to culminate with the announcement of the overall winner of the 2018 Hyundai Mercury Prize for ‘Album Of The Year’.
