Lily Allen reports soldier to authorities for "Twitter racism"

Lily Allen has reported a user on Twitter to the authorities after receiving a reported offensive tweet.

The singer was sent the message on the social networking website from someone claiming to be a soldier.

The Metro reports that the tweet said: "Just seen you bought s*** I mean adopted a child from Africa."

Allen later tweeted herself: "How do you report someone on here. That guy I retweeted should be banned."

The newspaper adds that an Army spokesman has denounced the alleged racist comment and confirmed that they are investigating the matter. They said:

"Racism of any kind is completely unacceptable and the Army has a zero-tolerance approach to all forms of harassment and discrimination. We are aware of the alleged offensive comments and are investigating the matter. It would be inappropriate to comment further while this is ongoing."
