Lily Allen: 'I lost sleep over making my musical comeback'

Songstress Lily Allen returned to the scene earlier this week with a new song and music video for 'Hard Out Here' and she confessed that it was really intimidating to make a comeback after being away for so long.

Speaking to London's Evening Standard newspaper, the hitmaker explained that she was nervous about her new material and how fans might react to the song: "It's been an exciting 24 hours, that's for sure. I'm a bit of a catastrophiser. I haven't really slept much in the last couple of weeks, thinking about the negative feedback I was going to get."

She added that despite the initial criticism surrounding the video, which she addressed in an extended Twitter post, the response has been overwhelming and fans seem to understand the message she wanted to get across:

"I think objectification of women is fine if I feel that there is a sense of ownership from the woman. If it comes from somewhere else and it feels like the woman is being coerced or forced into something then it's gross."
