Lily Allen has written an 'important' and 'powerful' song about her miscarriage

Songstress Lily Allen has revealed that she has written an emotional song about suffering a miscarriage.

During her 2010 pregnancy, the 'Smile' beauty lost the baby six months in and confessed that she has expressed her feelings about that time in her life in a new cut.

She told Q magazine that she recorded the song a while ago and described it as a "really sad, really powerful track", although she is unsure if it will feature on her forthcoming new album.

When asked about where the song might end up, Allen added: "I hope it makes the final cut, because it's a really important song to me."

Allen also opened up about the subject matter she has been writing about lately, admitting that she has turned her attention to things that are close to her own heart: "It's no use just singing about being famous, or rhyming 'crazy' with 'baby' a million times over. And I like to be frank, whether it's about sex or politics or feminism... but if people want to call it controversial, then, well, that's their thing."
