Songs for Mr Sloane Release New Album ‘It Is What It Is’

London’s Peter Dale (vocals, keys, guitars) and Buckinghamshire’s Guy Snook (Bass) are the main creative force behind Songs for Mr Sloane. They are, however, joined on the album by some extremely talented friends:  Zero7’s Dedi Madden adds some impressive guitar, while Aussie Shantoose Lily Dior brings her sublime vocal talents to the project. With London jazz scene stalwart Adam Davey on sax duty, it all makes for an impressive amalgam of talent.

With Peter Dale’s CV showing previous work with the likes of Steve Levine, Tricky, Bjork, and Mungo Jerry, there is a scene of experience and quality that runs right through ‘It Is What It Is’.

It’s impossible to file Songs for Mr Slone under a category or genre. You can hear such diverse influences as the musicality of Pink Floyd to the theatricality and storytelling of the divine comedy.

From the guitar led pure pop of ‘She Blows Me Away’, the much more jazz influenced ‘Just Becoz’ and the commentary on modern communication ‘On Your Phone Again’, ‘It Is What It Is’ could almost be called the concept album for the 21st century. Intelligent, entertaining lyrics sung over classy arrangements make this a must have album for 2015.
