Linkin Park: 'Last year we realised the music we were making was wrong'

Rockers Linkin Park will unveil their highly anticipated new studio album on June 17 and they have opened up about the creative process they've been going through this time around.

Speaking in a new video to promote the record, which is entitled 'The Hunting Party', the band's Mike Shinoda explained that in 2013 he realised the music they were working on was going in the wrong direction so they've experienced a real change of style:

"There was a point last year where I was making stuff and I realised that it was just wrong. I was making stuff that I wanted to listen to, not something I wanted to be making."

Frontman Chester Bennington added: "When I heard the opening riffs of 'Guilty All The Same', I hadn't felt that excitement in a long time."

Linkin Park, meanwhile, are due to headline this year's Download Festival on June 14 in the UK, with the band set to play their 'Hybrid Theory' album in full. Tickets for the rock and metal festival are on sale now.
