Linkin Park's 'Living Things' debuts at No.1 on the midweek albums chart

Rockers Linkin Park have topped the UK albums chart today (June 27) with their latest full-length offering, 'Living Things'.

The record, which is the band's fifth and is currently at No.1, is only 5,500 sales ahead of Maroon 5's album 'Overexposed'.

The Official Charts Company reports that if it maintains its lead "it will give Linkin Park their sixth Top 10 album and third UK Number 1".

Jay-Z and Kanye West's collaborative album 'Watch The Throne' has climbed an impressive 17 places to sit right behind 'Overexposed' at No.3 following the '99 Problems' rapper's recent set at London's Hackney Weekend. Elsewhere, Lana Del Rey's 'Born To Die' has dropped 1 place to No.16 and One Direction's 'Up All Night' is at No.25.

Justin Bieber's 'Believe' has slipped 3 positions to No.4 and Ed Sheeran's major label debut '+' is now at No.5. The Offspring have made an appearance this afternoon with 'Days Go By', which entered at No.27, and Jedward's new record 'Young Love' has charted at No.33.
