Dragonette announce December London show

Following the release of their Christmas single ‘Merry Xmas (Says Your Text Message)’ Dragonette have now announced that they will headline the Popjustice Festive Pissup at London’s Cargo on Wednesday 12th December. Tickets priced £10 (subject to booking fee) are on sale now from www.livenation.co.uk or www.ticketmaster.co.uk

The Canadian trio, now synonymous with the one word each and every one of us says all day - ‘Hello’- are responsible THAT record that sold in excess of 2.5million copies worldwide and went on to deliver the band and their French collaborator Martin Solveig 9 platinum discs. This December they are swinging by the nation’s capital for some festive fun!

Having supported the likes of Duran Duran, New Order and Ke$ha, and having delivered 3 albums over their career to date - ‘Bodyparts’ being the latest - Dragonette’s sound continues to stand out from anything else, with lead singer Martina Sorbara’s vocals sounding unlike anyone else!

Together with bassist/producer Dan Kurtz who just happens to be Sobrara’s wife, best friend, hometown sweetheart and business partner, and with Joel Stouffer who adds extra bass to everything the band does, Dragonette have proved themselves a stand-alone force in the industry.

This bill-topping show is the chance to hear a stream of hit after hit in the most intimate of spaces. Dragonette are powerhouses of the pop world in their own right, as well as supreme collaborators. Amongst a diverse and striking set, look forward to hearing their smashes ‘Live In This City’, ‘Let It Go’ and future, timeless classic ‘Merry Xmas’. Also get ‘Fire In Your New Shoes’, the song combined the electrifying backing of Kaskade and expect to be shouting ‘Hello’ all the way home.

Established in 2000, Popjustice.com is the UK’s biggest independent pop website. It’s bold, irreverent and obsessed with big tunes, much like Dragonette themselves. www.popjustice.com
