One Direction and Katy Perry were among the winners at this year's People's Choice Awards.

The 2014 ceremony took place last night (January 8) as a cross-section of entertainment stars were honoured.

In the music section, One Direction bagged the Favourite Band prize whilst Katy Perry won the Favourite Song and Favourite Music Video categories.

Other winners included Justin Timberlake (Favourite Male Artist, Favourite R&B Artist and Favourite Album) and Taylor Swift (Favourite Country Artist).

Demi Lovato meanwhile had a successful night as she picked up the Favourite Female Artist and Favourite Music Fan Following.

Ariana Grande won the Favourite Breakout Artist prize, Britney Spears bagged the Favourite Pop Artist honour and Macklemore & Ryan Lewis nabbed the Hip-Hop Artist award.

Fall Out Boy nailed the Alternative Band category whilst Tim McGraw won the Country Artist prize.

Some non-music winners included Now You See Me in the Favourite Thriller Movie section and Adam Sandler, who pocketed the Favourite Comedic Movie Actor gong.
