Disney's Frozen soundtrack tops US album chart

The soundtrack to Disney's hit film Frozen has topped the US albums chart.

The collection, featuring the likes of Demi Lovato, has sold 165,000 copies in the States over the past week.

It means that it is the first soundtrack to reach No.1 in the US since Les Misérables in 2013.

Frozen is only the fourth soundtrack to top the US albums chart since they began in 1956.

The other chart-toppers also include The Lion King (1994), Pocahontas (1995) and Jack Johnson's Curious George (1996).

Beyoncé's self-titled effort meanwhile is No.2 in the Billboard 200, whilst Eminem's 'The Marshall Mathers LP 2' is No.3.

Katy Perry's 'Prism' is in at No.4 whilst Lorde's debut 'Pure Heroine' is currently No.5.
