Ed Sheeran's cousin: 'We used to collaborate a lot before he got signed'

The first cousin of singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran, Laura Sheeran (pictured below), has revealed that before he rose to fame they used to duet together.

Speaking to the Irish Herald, she explained that they would often "cross collaborate" as a passion for making music is something they share: "I used to cross collaborate with Ed a lot before he was signed."

She added that musical talent runs in their family because another cousin is a hip-hop artist and Sheeran's brother, named Matthew, is involved in music, too: "Ed does his singer/songwriter thing and his brother Matthew is insanely talented and really interested in avant-garde classical stuff, while our other cousin is a rapper."

The 'Lego House' hitmaker recently confirmed that once the GRAMMYs has been and gone, which takes place in Los Angeles on January 26, he plans to take a month off work. He is up for Best New Artist at the 2014 ceremony and will also be doing a full headlining tour later this year.
