Louis Tomlinson to make Doncaster Rovers Reserves debut in February

Doncaster Rovers have confirmed that Louis Tomlinson will play for their reserves side next month.

The singer signed a non-contract deal with his local team last year in an effort to raise money for the Bluebell Wood children's hospice.

He was due to play for their reserves side in September but he pulled out through injury.

The One Direction man recently stated that he would make his reserves debut in March - but the club have now confirmed that it will be February.

Chief executive Gavin Baldwin said: "We are very much looking forward to Louis making his Rovers debut and I know that he can't wait either. Louis has an incredibly busy schedule and we have been working hard with him to ensure we can get a date in his diary for the game. "

He added: "Louis is a lifelong Rovers supporter and he comes to watch the team whenever he can, so it will be great for him to put on his Rovers shirt and make his debut for us. I am sure that the Louis’ appearance for Doncaster Rovers will attract lots of attention from One Direction fans and I hope that we will generate lots of new Rovers supporters."

More details about game will emerge next week.
