Ed Sheeran talks new album: 'There's a thread that goes through the whole thing'

British singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran has revealed that his forthcoming sophomore album will be released relatively soon.

The highly anticipated follow-up to his 2011 offering '+' is set to drop "in the next few months" and he opened up about the project while at the GRAMMY Awards ceremony in Los Angeles last night (January 26):

"It's coming out in the next few months. I recorded it about three different times with three different people; Then I picked the best songs. I did some with Rick Rubin. I did some with Jake (Gosling) who I did the first album (2011's '+') with. And I did some with Pharrell."

When asked if there will be a mix of producers on the album, Sheeran added: "Kind of. There's a thread that goes through the whole thing so it's kind of the same."

Earlier this month, he told Radio 1 that he has been falling in and out of love with his new record: "It was one of these things that I fell in and out of love with. [Rick Rubin] re-energized me to be excited about the album again. [It was] coming at the songs from a different direction and making sure they had the live vibe as well as the actual song craft."
