Little Mix's 'Salute' reaches No.1 on US iTunes chart

Little Mix's latest album has shot to the top of the US iTunes chart.

The girl group released their sophomore record 'Salute' in the States today (February 4) after unleashing it at home in the UK in November.

It has impressively hit No.1 on the US iTunes albums chart almost instantly as their American fans lap up the studio effort.

Their biggest competition comes in the shape of 'Unorthodox Jukebox' by Bruno Mars, who is experiencing a sales boost after performing at the Super Bowl on Sunday (February 2).

Label boss Simon Cowell meanwhile tweeted: "I have just been told that the new little mix album is number one on the us iTunes album chart. That is bloody fantastic. Congratulations."

If Little Mix stay put on the US albums chart then they will better the performance of their debut release 'DNA', which reached No.4 on the Billboard 200 in 2013.

'Salute' meanwhile reached No.4 in the UK in November.
