Nile Rodgers says working with Daft Punk was like "love at first sight"

Nile Rodgers has opened up on his working relationship with Daft Punk.

The Chic guitarist teamed up with the French electronic duo for their massive 2013 hit single 'Get Lucky'.

They also performed together alongside Stevie Wonder and Pharrell Williams at last month's Grammys.

Speaking to the Guardian, Rodgers said that he had an instant bond with Daft Punk when he first met them:

"[Working with Daft Punk was] like love at first sight. Just like Bowie, they let me do what I do. They loved it. 'Go ahead, Nile, do your thing, man'. When we found that groove I felt like Indiana Jones – like, 'Wow, I just discovered the Ark of the Covenant!'."

When questioned meanwhile if fellow 'Get Lucky' collaborator is the "latterday" Rodgers, the guitarist said:

"I can't make superlative statements when it comes to music. But when I met him at the Grammys for the first time, after Justin Timberlake's 'Rock Your Body' which was based on Chic's 'Good Times', he knew that I knew. And he bowed down and said, 'Hey, man, thank you'."
