Ed Sheeran finishes second on 'Weird Crushes' list

British singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran has finished second in a poll of the public's 'weird crushes', which aims to celebrate stars with unconventional looks or appeal.

Readers of Heat magazine, heatworld.com and listeners of Heat Radio voted for their top choice and a Top 10 was compiled that saw Sheeran come in at No.2, just behind TV presenter and comedian Matt Richardson.

Heat's editor Lucie Cave said of the 'weird crush' ranking: "Sexiness comes in all shapes, sizes, ages and smells, and at Heat we like to celebrate the unconventional."

Other celebrities included in Heat's Top 10 Weird Crushes list include magician and illusionist Dynamo, baker Paul Hollywood, and James Corden

In November last year, the 'Lego House' superstar was nominated for People magazine's 'Sexiest Man' title and told the publication that he was surprised to have been included: "One of the reasons I said yes to being in this issue is because it’s quite funny. Utterly ridiculous! I don’t think anyone sees me as a sex symbol. I don’t know who the voting party are for PEOPLE, but thank you. It’s very kind."

Sheeran added, jokingingly: "But I’m sure I’m the only person on this list who has a belly. Though I guess Austin Powers was considered a sex symbol, and we share similar physical-appearance qualities. I brush my teeth though."
