Peter Andre on relationships: 'It felt wrong to mess around with girls I wasn't interested in'

TV personality Peter Andre has revealed that he has always been the type of guy to want to settle down and start a family, and that even when he was single he didn't enjoy just having fun with girls.

Speaking to Now magazine, the star explained that being a fiancé and father makes him so much happier and although it took him a while to realise Emily MacDonagh was the one he is so glad he's finally at that stage:

"I was looking in the wrong places and I never found the right girl. I always wanted to get married and have a family again but I got to a point where I thought it was never going to happen.

"It's ironic because there was a stage when
I knew Emily but didn't realise how perfect she was for me. She was under my nose all that time. She's the most special woman in the world. I'm totally in awe of her."

Andre added that even when he was playing the dating game it didn't feel right because he was getting physically involved with girls he wasn't romantically interested in: "I had my single days of messing around with girls. A lot of guys love that life but it never felt right to me."

"I think because I had kids
I always felt somehow it was wrong to be having fun with girls who I wasn't in a relationship with. I'm actually a really traditional guy. I do want a family, I do want to get married. I have the perfect girl."
