Kavana has publicly confirmed that he is gay for the first time.

The 90s pop star, who is featuring on the current series of ITV's Big Reunion, told Now magazine that he has been keeping his sexuality secret for about 14 years.

The 36-year-old added that he wasn't sure why he hadn't come out in public earlier. Kavana said:

"Part of me is almost embarrassed that it's taken me this long to publicly say I'm gay. Here I am, aged 36, coming out - what am I doing? I've never come out publicly because no one's ever asked. It's become this huge elephant in the room."

The singer added: "I do find women attractive, but I've had more intimate relationships with guys. If I change my mind one day, so be it - but right now I'm gay."

Kavana meanwhile has been pieced together with a number of other singers such as Dane Bowers and Gareth Gates in the Big Reunion supergroup 5th Story.
