Fall Out Boy have confirmed that they will release a parody of the Flappy Bird game.

The US rockers will unleash Fall Out Bird to app stores as soon as they get permission to do so.

It will work in the same vein of the smash hit game Flappy Bird, which saw users attempt to navigate a bird through obstacles.

However, the game's creator recently pulled the app offline - causing Fall Out Boy to step in. They wrote:

"Rome wasn't built in a day, but this game was. In the spirit of Fall Out Boy Trail, we bring you Fall Out Bird. coming this week to Google Play and The App Store (as soon it's approved). Shoutout to the OG Flappy Bird, RIP."

In 2008, Fall Out Boy created the aforementioned Fall Out Boy Trail, a take on the classic educational game The Oregon Trail.
