Louis Tomlinson's relative to run half-marathon for children's hospice

Sally Deakin, a relative of One Direction heartthrob Louis Tomlinson, will support children's hospice Bluebell Wood in April by taking part in the Sheffield Half Marathon.

The 'Little Things' superstar is a patron of the hospice and 29-year-old social worker Sally (pictured below) is the sister of Louis’ mother's fiancé, Dan Deakin. Speaking about her decision to take part in the fundraising sporting event, Sally explained that Tomlinson's involvement with the hospice inspired her:

"I’m passionate about children and young people and became aware of the fabulous service Bluebell Wood provide, to children and their families, when Louis became a patron. To be able to support them and make a difference through this run is incredible and will spur me on round the run. This will also be an amazing achievement for me personally and I would encourage anyone thinking about running the race to get out there and do it for Bluebell Wood.”

Gail Parkin, fundraiser at Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice said in a statement: “I’d like to thank Sally for taking part in the Sheffield Half Marathon in aid of Bluebell Wood. As we receive less than 5% statutory funding we really rely on the support of local people such as Sally to allow us to continue offering our services to children with a shortened life expectancy."

"We still have some places available so I would encourage any local runners to sign up and run for Bluebell Wood.”

Back in January, the One Direction sensation lent his autograph to a merchandise item sold by Bluebell Wood Children's Hospice in order to raise money and the limited edition 'Louis Bag' is still available to purchase now for just £5.99.
