The Vamps' 'Can We Dance' goes platinum in Australia

The Vamps' debut single has been certified platinum in Australia.

The rising group have been making a sizeable impact in the UK recently, but it seems they've got global appeal.

EMI Music Australia have confirmed that The Vamps' debut single 'Can We Dance' has sold over 70,000 copies in the country to go platinum.

The group responded on Twitter by saying: "That is crazy! Thankyou guys! Can't wait to come over there!"

The band meanwhile recently stated that they would rather have worldwide impact than land a UK No.1 single.

They said: "We were really grateful for the number two [single] with 'Can We Dance' - which was awesome - and then number three with 'Wild Heart' was cool. I think we are all very happy and do it all for the fans so any chart position is fine for us. Obviously we would love to have a number one but we are more focused on trying to make international plans."
