Nick Grimshaw would "love" to host the BRITs

Nick Grimshaw has put his name forward for hosting the BRIT Awards.

Comic and actor James Corden is due to preside over the music awards ceremony for the fifth time in a row tonight (February 19).

However, he will hang up his record-breaking hosting boots after the show is done and give way to the next presenter.

BBC Radio 1 Breakfast Show host Nick Grimshaw told Digital Spy that he would be honoured to host the ceremony if asked.

He said: "I think it's big shoes to fill because James Corden's very, very good at it. But yeah, I'd love to do it."

Corden, however, previously stated that he thinks Emma Willis would be a good host as she would bring a much-needed feminine touch to the ceremony.

This year's BRITs meanwhile are due to take place at London's O2 Arena with with likes of Katy Perry and Pharrell Williams set to perform.
