Nicki Minaj being sued over stolen wig designs

Nicki Minaj is being sued by her former hairstylist who has accused the star of stealing his wig designs.

Terrence Davidson has filed a $30 million federal lawsuit against the ‘Super Bass’ rapper for using his ideas without compensating him.

Davidson alleges that as her hairstylist he was integral to creating Minaj’s image and should be recognised accordingly.

He also claims that during his time working with Nicki Minaj the pair had discussed other business ventures – including a reality television show and selling wigs – but was eventually frozen out of the projects by Minaj and her team.

Davidson then found that the ‘Starships’ singer has been selling wigs that copied his designs.

He said: “I see these wigs online. People are basically duplicating what I created for Nicki Minaj.”

Terreance Davidson’s laywer Christopher Chestnut has stated: “Nicki Minaj is reaping great success and financial bounty reward for Terrence's creative expertise, and he is entitled to participate in that. Someone's got to stand up for the artist. We applaud the fact that she's making millions, but she's also got to pay bounty to those whose creative designs she's making millions off of.”

Nicki Minaj recently apologised for using an image of Malcolm X holding a gun to promote her new single ‘Lookin Ass N*gga’.
