Joe Bonamassa added: "Some very sad news from Mexico. Rest in peace Paco de Lucia. One of the greatest guitarist and musicians of the 20th century."

Dream Theater guitarist John Petrucci said: "Today we mourn the loss of one of the world's greatest. May you rest in peace Paco de Lucia. 'Friday Night In San Francisco' remains one of the most influential albums of all time for me as a guitarist."
