No Doubt lead singer Gwen Stefani and her husband Gavin Rossdale confirmed news of the birth of their third son earlier this week.

The Bush rocker announced the arrival of his new son on February 28 following the birth in Los Angeles.

Gwen’s husband has now revealed the name of the couple’s baby to be Apollo.

Via Twitter Gavin explained that the child’s full name combines both his and Gwen’s mother’s maiden names.

Rossdale wrote yesterday (March 1): “Welcome Apollo Bowie Flynn Rossdale 2/28/14. Bowie and Flynn = [our] mother’s maiden names.”

Apollo is Gwen and Gavin’s third child together and will join their brood made up by five-year-old Zuma and seven-year-old Kingston.

Gwen Stefani has previously spoken about motherhood being a “life changing” experience.
