Nick Grimshaw leaves radio show early after swallowing glass

Nick Grimshaw was taken to hospital during his BBC Radio 1 Breakfast Show slot after swallowing glass.

The presenter was replaced by Fearne Cotton for the last 40 minutes of his morning show today (March 2) as he went to get checked out after apparently swallowing glass that was left in a mug.

Grimshaw later took to Twitter to confirm that all is well, saying:

"Went to hospy, had X-rays, coughed it up, all fine now. I can eat glass in a circus now if all else fails."

The presenter meanwhile is the favourite to replace outgoing host James Corden as the presenter of the BRIT Awards.

The actor recently hosted his fifth and final ceremony and the Radio 1 man is the bookies' favourite to replace him.
