George Michael has revealed that he has been off drugs for over a year and a half.

The singer is well-known for his seeming penchant for marijuana and he has often been in trouble with the law as a result.

The Wham! man was given an eight-week prison sentence in 2010 for crashing his car whilst under the influence of the drug.

However, Michael told the Big Issue that he is off drugs after a rethink.

He said: "I decided to change my life and I haven't touched it."

Speaking meanwhile about going to prison, the 'Symphonica' star added:

"Jail wasn't great. I just thought, get your head down and get on with it. It turned out to be easier than I was expecting because I knew I deserved to be there."
