The Rolling Stones cancel tour date after L'Wren Scott death

The Rolling Stones have pulled an upcoming gig after the death of Mick Jagger's girlfriend L'Wren Scott.

As previously reported, the fashion designer was found dead in her Manhattan apartment after an apparent hanging on Monday (March 18).

No foul play is suspected and police are treating the death of Scott, who has been linked with Jagger since 2001, as a suicide.

As a result, The Rolling Stones have now cancelled a tour date scheduled to take place in Perth, Australia on Wednesday (March 19).

They wrote in a statement: "The Rolling Stones concert in Perth will not be going ahead as scheduled for Wednesday 19 March 2014. No further information is available at this time, ticket holders are asked to hold on to their tickets until a further update is available."

A spokeswoman for Jagger meanwhile has dismissed reports that the singer recently broke up with Scott, saying:

"The story in the New York Post re a split between Mick Jagger and L'Wren Scott is 100% untrue. There is absolutely no basis in fact to this story. It is a horrible and inaccurate piece of gossip during this very tragic time for Mick."
