Taylor Momsen: 'I just do my sh*t and people talk about'

The Pretty Reckless frontwoman Taylor Momsen has revealed that while she's often in the media, she never aims to make controversial remarks or to push boundaries in order to raise her own profile.

During a new interview with London's newspaper, Metro, the blonde rocker explained that journalists twist her words or pick out the most salacious parts of their chats with her and it doesn't reflect her real personality: "I definitely don't try to cause controversy. I just do my sh*t and people talk about it."

Referring to a previous comment she made about buying and possessing flick knives, she added that the press often take what she says out of context for the sake of getting an article noticed:

"Well in America, those flick knives aren't illegal and you can buy them in truck stops. We tour so much, we're always in truck stops and buying the weird sh*t they sell in them becomes a fun activity for the band. Some of the things I've said have been taken out of context but you can't control that."

Momsen added that returning to acting isn't something she plans on because music and her band are her main passions: "The only role I'd say yes to is Thor in the Avengers films but Chris Hemsworth's got that locked down. Thor is the coolest character. He's the god of thunder, the god of lightning and he's got that hammer. That's the only acting job I'd want. I'm more about writing, touring and making records until I physically can't do it anymore."
