PETA slams Drake for being 'cheap and ignorant' by wearing fur

Animal rights organisation PETA has hit out at Canadian rapper Drake for his recent fashion choices and branded him "cheap and ignorant".

The 'Hold On, We're Going Home' hitmaker was snapped wearing a particularly lavish-looking coat earlier this month while in London and it has angered the People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals group.

A spokesperson for PETA told Wenn News that he is being irresponsible as a public figure by wearing fur and that he should be more mindful of how the material is obtained to make the items he shows off: "If he wants to look flash, he'd do well to remember that a dozen or so individuals were killed for that jacket by the cheapest methods available, including crude suffocation, painful genital electrocution, gassing and even poisoning. Wearing fur doesn't just make him look cheap - it also makes him look ignorant of social issues, self-absorbed and oblivious."

Back in February, Drake hit out at the press for constantly twisting his words for the sake of making articles more salacious and tweeted a message telling the world that he doesn't want to do any more magazine interviews: "I'm done doing interviews for magazines. I just want to give my music to the people. That's the only way my message gets across accurately."
