Sam Bailey has commented on her duet with Nicole Scherzinger on the X Factor last year.

The singer won the 2013 series of the UK TV talent show and she performed with judge Nicole Scherzinger on the final episode.

However, some accused the US star of stealing the limelight during the 'And I'm Telling You' duet.

Speaking to STV, Bailey acknowledged that Scherzinger may have dominated the proceedings a little, but it seems the 'Skyscraper' star didn't care because she won the competition.

The singer said: "On the last note, [Scherzinger] was supposed to do a bit, me do a bit and then we do it together. I was waiting for my bit, and I was waiting and waiting...Nicole just held on to the note.

"Everyone was saying she totally overpowered it and stole my thunder. I hear what they're saying, but I'd just won so I didn't care."

Bailey's debut album 'The Power of Love' meanwhile hit No.1 in the UK on Sunday (March 31), becoming the country's fastest selling record of the year so far.

It shifted 73,000 copies in a week to become the first X Factor victor to have their debut album go straight to the top of the chart since Alexandra Burke in 2009.
