One Direction and The Wanted to form supergroup called Wan Direction

One Direction and The Wanted are set to put their differences behind them by forming a supergroup.

The two British-Irish boybands have regularly fallen out over the past year or so, but they are due to team up to create a new group called Wan Direction.

The collaboration will feature all ten members and it has taken inspiration from McFly and Busted's recent McBusted venture.

The news will be confirmed in a press conference this afternoon (April 1) in London.

The Wanted had previously announced plans to go on an indefinite hiatus following their spring Word of Mouth tour, but they have confirmed that was just a decoy.

The Wan Direction project is the brainchild of US promoter Yardis Alpolfo, who is set to bring the supergroup on tour to North America in 2015.

The band will play songs from both One Direction and The Wanted's back catalogue.

NOTE: This story is, of course, an April Fool's joke.
