Ed Sheeran on new album: 'It's definitely influenced by America'

British singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran has revealed that spending time in the USA and being around creative types in the country while he was there over the past year has really influenced the sound and style of his upcoming sophomore album. 

During an interview with On Air with Ryan Seacrest, the 'Lego House' hitmaker explained that the people he met and spent time in the studio with really shaped his new record:

"It’s more people-based. And I took more influence from music here, and I got to work with a lot of cool people over here.” 

'X' is due to be officially released on June 23 and earlier today (April 9) he unveiled its tracklisting, adding that a deluxe edition of the album will be made available featuring exciting bonus material.

He tweeted a message about the impending release, writing: "There is also a deluxe album with 4 extra tracks. Those are - Take it back, Even my dad does sometimes, Shirtsleeves and I see fire x."
