New Kids on the Block tell One Direction to enjoy their "once in a lifetime opportunity"

New Kids on the Block have told One Direction to make the most of their time in the spotlight.

The British-Irish boyband are currently on the top of the world as they enjoy global fame and a rabid fanbase.

New Kids on the Block's Joey McIntyre told EntertainmentWise that he feels Harry Styles and Co. should enjoy their fame whilst they can.

The group have recently had some time off before going on their Where We Are tour this month, but the singer said that will be a rare occurrence.

He said: "In an ideal world to get three months off for any band - even us growing up - would have been awesome, but that's just not the nature of the business.

"But when you're in it you've just got to go. It's a once in a lifetime opportunity. You know when you're young and you're going non-stop and you are in the biggest group in the world."

McIntyre added: "You've just got to ride the wave and hopefully you have good family and good friends around you and you realise there is more to life than being a popstar."
