Katy Perry is one of the latest names to be added to Radio 1's Big Weekend bill.

The British radio station are hosting their annual live music event this year at Glasgow Green on May 23-25.

They have today (April 28) been announcing more names for its star-studded line-up, such as One Direction, Kings of Leon, Ed Sheeran and Lily Allen.

US heavyweight Katy Perry has now been announced to headline the Sunday (May 25) at the Scottish event.

Kasabian meanwhile will top the bill on the In New Music We Trust stage on the same day.

Tickets for the event are free, but they have already been snapped up by eager music fans.
