Ariana Grande: 'My new single is about a relationship gone sour'

Vocal sensation Ariana Grande has opened up about her brand new single 'Problem' and admitted that it was written about a love affair 'gone sour'.

Speaking to Billboard about the track, she confessed that it's written about the anxieties that come with enduring a failing relationship:

“'Problem' truly represents the feeling of being absolutely terrified to re-approach a relationship that's gone sour -- but you want to more than anything."

She added: "In the song, it ends on a sappy, negative note, but in [real] life, we're hoping it's going to end on a positive one. I feel like it's all very honest and human.”

Grande split from The Wanted's Nathan Sykes last year and explained in February via her official Twitter page that her new songs were going to be very personal and emotionally open: "Progress update! I think I want to name the album after 1 of the songs I finished this weekend. It makes me cry! It's very special & honest. This is my favourite, being in the studio and seeing my loves get all excited. can't wait to share with U. it'll be worth the wait I promise."
