New Kids on the Block star Jordan Knight has offered his thoughts on his new duo with Nick Carter.

The US singer and the Backstreet Boys man have teamed up for the project Nick & Knight.

They will release a self-titled album on September 2 before touring North America with a slew of concerts.

Speaking to Ryan Seacrest's radio show, Knight said that Carter is the perfect man to team up with.

He said: "I am excited about doing this project with Nick. I also admire Nick’s ability, I admire his talent and the way he performs onstage. I think he’s a great partner to do this new project with."

Carter meanwhile previously said of the duo's sound: "We're almost pretty much done with the album. It's a bunch of our pop, rock, R&B and urban. It's all mixed together to create Nick & Knight."

Nick & Knight's debut tour will kick off in Nashville on September 15 before finishing up in Calgary on November 22.
