Billy Ray Cyrus gives Miley recovery update: 'We're getting her back to full health'

The father of Miley Cyrus, country singer Billy Ray, has given an update on her wellbeing after she was forced to cancel more dates of her Bangerz tour, despite being discharged from hospital and being thought to be fully recovered.

The 'We Can't Stop' superstar was hospitalised in April after suffering a shock allergic reaction to an antibiotic, but was well enough to leave the facility and then unfortunately got sick again this week.

Speaking to reporters backstage at the iHeart Radio Music Awards yesterday (May 1), where Billy Ray picked up her prize for Best Lyrics for 'Wrecking Ball', he explained that she's doing well and recovery is progressing:

"She's doing much better, thank you for asking. You know, right now we're just getting her back, healthy. She had an allergic reaction to antibiotics. She's feeling much, much better. The tour resumes this weekend, and the 'Bangerz' train is back on track."

Cyrus, meanwhile, axed her Amsterdam show this evening and has also postponed the concert scheduled to take place in Antwerp on May 4. Other dates are, at the time of press, thought to be unaffected.
