5 Seconds Of Summer's Ashton: 'I'm trying to make history'

Australian rocker Ashton Irwin (pictured left), who plays drums for 5 Seconds Of Summer, has revealed that making history is his ultimate goal.

His band is doing incredibly well and has already been confirmed to perform at the 2014 Billboard Music Awards, the lads have now been nominated for a Kerrang! Award, and their new lyric video for 'Don't Stop' has already attracted over 1 million views, but he took to his official Twitter page earlier today and admitted that he wants to make a real name for himself:

"Attempting to make some sort of history, I'm not sure how just yet."

Earlier this week, the 'She Looks So Perfect' hitmakers were praised by AP magazine for bringing pop-punk to the masses and journalist Matt Crane explained: "You don’t have to like them. You don’t even have to listen to them. Just be open to the opportunity this Australian quartet represent for the genre and the pop-punk bands you do love [...] Our poppy Australian hopefuls may be the spearhead of the sonic assault that leads pop-punk to the mainstream throne."
