Drummer Ashton Irwin, of 5 Seconds Of Summer fame, has revealed that he turns to music when he's struggling to keep his head in a positive place. 

The heartthrob took to his official Twitter page earlier this evening (May 9) and told his fans that listening to his favourite bands always makes him feel better:

"I'm not a perfect person, there's many things I wish I didn't do, but I continue learning. Bands really help me, when people make me feel like shit, the bands I love get me through everything, in times when I'm totally miserable."

Back in April, Irwin told his fans that listening to an album by rockers Green Day made him realise that pursuing music as a career was what he wanted to do: "My favourite recording in history. Helped me discover what I wanted to do in life... Rock out and entertain people!"
