Hotel 'shocked and disappointed' after footage of Solange Knowles attacking Jay Z leaks

Last night, gossip site TMZ published a video that appeared to show Solange Knowles attacking her sister's husband, Jay Z, in an elevator at the Standard Hotel in New York City and a representative for the hotel has now revealed that they are shocked at such a huge breach of privacy and security.

In the footage, Solange can be seen kicking and lunging at the rap superstar as her sister, Beyoncé, looks on without getting involved. The trio were leaving a Met Ball after-party at the Boom Boom Room, which is the Standard's rooftop club, when the incident took place.

In an official statement, a spokesperson for the Standard explained that staff and bosses are disgusted with how the security footage has found its way onto the internet and into the hands of reporters: "We are shocked and disappointed that there was a clear breach of our security system and the confidentiality that we count on providing our guests."
